The Online Diploma of Project Management is an online program combining the best elements of instructor led learning with the freedom and flexibility offered by learning via the internet.
Combining online learning modules with integrated video and live facilitated online tutorial sessions this program Endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management(AIPM) allows “time poor” Project managers to develop their Project Management skills and achieve a Nationally accredited Qualification by the use of their home internet connection and fitting in with their busy time table.
Course participants are strongly supported in the achievement of their Diploma qualification via embedded online support, Project Management templates, live tutorials and individual coaching.
The program is competency based and specifically developed to cater for Project Managers who are ‘currently’ or ‘soon to be’ managing projects from an ‘end to end’ or whole of lifecycle perspective. It is delivered within the context of a “best practice” project management framework within a structured online environment (including online assessment support) and which enables participants to have the flexibility of undertaking learning in their own time and at their own pace.
Endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) and aligned to both the Australian National Competency Standards and PMBOK, this program has been developed specifically for Project Managers who are seeking to upgrade their skills and qualifications but are unable to access traditional training options during business hours.
Online Diploma Participants gain 40 CPD (Continuous Professional Development) points towards AIPM RegPM (Registered Project Manager) Certification.
The Online Diploma of Project Management is also recognised for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) by Engineers Australia (EA) in accordance with EA CPD Guidelines.
The Diploma of Project Management (Online) is for Project Managers currently or soon to be managing projects from an 'end to end' perspective. It is also suitable for experienced Project Managers looking for further Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and to have their experience recognised through achievement of a nationally recognised Project Management qualification.
The Diploma of Project Management is composed of 20 Interactive Learning Modules integrated within a schedule of online, facilitator-led tutorials which are framed around specific skill areas of Project Management and ongoing Qualification Assessment support.
The detailed learning content is further strengthened through the Project Management text book provided to all participants, practical Project Management Templates and via access to periodical and topical Project Management Webinars scheduled throughout the year.
The participants learning will be structured throughout the program according to their own individual learning plan which allows the program to cater for all levels of Project Management experience and which effectively allows for a customised approach to their Project Management development.
The course is structured to follow the recognised Project Management processes (see numbered list below) and thus the participant takes in their learning material following the same intuitive pathway that real organisational projects take from beginning to end.
Participants will learn and understand how all of the functional knowledge areas of Project Management 'fit together' within the key Project Management processes and overall structure of the Project Lifecycle.
On completion of their learning plan, participants will compile a portfolio of evidence and be assessed against the Diploma of Project Management national competency standard at Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 5.
The Diploma of Project Management is a competency based qualification at Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 5.
Candidates are assessed against a National standard which reflects a "Best Practice" standard in terms of management of projects. This qualification is recognised nationally across all industry sectors as a significant benchmark in demonstrated capacity to both apply Project Management methodology and to manage projects across the project lifecycle.
You will submit a Portfolio of Evidence of your practical application of Project Management of the Project Management theory covered in the course.
This evidence takes the form of the documents that you actually use to manage your Projects eg Project Management Plans, Progress reports etc. The evidence can come from Projects that you have previously managed as well as your upcoming Projects. You will be provided with Project Management Templates during the course which will assist you.
You will be briefed on the detail of evidence requirements on enrolment and coached through the development of this portfolio throughout the program. An assessor will then assess your Portfolio of Evidence against the standard and subject to you meeting the competency standard you will be awarded a Diploma of Project Management.
The online learning undertaken in accordance with each participant's Learning Plan will cover off all of the underpinning knowledge and understanding, processes, tools and techniques to effectively manage projects in any work environment. This is consistent with the requirements for achieving the AQF5 - Diploma of Project Management.
By applying the Online learning on "real" projects back in the workplace and utilising the Project Management templates supplied to you during the course to manage your projects, you will be producing documents which you can use to compile your Portfolio of Evidence.
In this way you will be achieving your qualification using documents that you have learned about in the course and which will support you to manage projects more effectively then you did before.
In accordance with your individual Learning Plan you will be given a schedule of Online Facilitator led Tutorials which you will attend to re-enforce the online learning content and activities. In addition to these there will regularly scheduled qualification evidence tutorials for you to attend which will coach you through application of the theory in the Workplace and help you in compiling your Evidence Portfolio.
There is also online support embedded within the Course resources of many of the modules to help you further understand the evidence documents required to achieve the qualification.
You will also have access to a series of Project Management Webinars, where experts will speak on specific topics and you will have some access to ask questions.
You will be allocated a support contact at enrolment and they will work with you throughout the program to ensure that you get the best out of your learning experience.
